If you’ve been waiting for a band that hits hard, means it and leaves nothing behind, this is it. I OH YOU and MG Live are pumped to announce provocative punk powerhouse Upchuck are bringing their explosive live show down under. The ferocious five-piece from Atlanta will make their Australian and New Zealand debut next March, with shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Wellington, as well as a featured set at Victoria’s Golden Plains festival.
Tickets go on sale Monday 27 October at 10.00am local time, with MG Live presale commencing Friday 24th October at 10.00am local time. Sign up for early access to the MG Live presale here.
Known for their electrifying performances and politically charged punk anthems, Upchuck’s live shows have become the stuff of legend, blowing minds across the US and Europe with their wild, no-holds-barred approach. Delivering the raw energy and uncompromising spirit that has made them one of the most talked about bands in punk today, with their blend of punk, garage rock and bluesy fury.
“Absolute mayhem … like punk Beastie Boys.” - NPR
“A sonic cannon, set to maximum destruction.” - Rolling Stone
“The band’s incendiary live shows are already the stuff of legend!” - Clash
The tour follows the release of their blistering third album – and Domino debut – I’m Nice Now, out now here. Produced and mixed by Ty Segall, the album is a bold evolution of their sound – a raw, urgent and emotionally charged statement of survival and resistance.
Formed in 2018 by a crew of Atlanta skaters in their early 20s – KT (vocals), Mikey Durham (guitar), Hoff (guitar), Ausar Ward (bass) and Chris Salado (vocals/drums) – they quickly became hometown legends. Their debut Sense Yourself (2022) and Ty Segall-produced follow-up Bite The Hand That Feeds (2023) cemented their fearless reputation. Early singles Freaky and Facecard earned praise from punk icons Iggy Pop and Henry Rollins, who both played tracks on their radio shows, while support slots for Faye Webster (who calls Upchuck “her favourite band”), Amyl and the Sniffers, Soul Glo, Osees, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and a breakout Coachella 2024 performance further solidified their status.
A fierce lineup of local acts will join Upchuck around Australia and New Zealand. Captivating fourpiece Blue Diner kick things off in Brisbane on Wednesday 4 March; Post-punk rockers Xiao Xiao open in Sydney on Friday 6th March with secret guests in tow! Punk Naarm trio CLAMM bring their raw and visceral sound to Melbourne on Wednesday 11th March, while Aotearoa rockers DARTZ take over Auckland on Friday 13th March and Wellington on Saturday 14th March with their signature fiery live set!
Like your punk loud, honest and unfiltered? This is the tour you’ve been waiting for. Don’t miss Upchuck’s debut down under.
