2025 has been a landmark year for Ziggy Alberts.

He kicked off the year with his seventh studio album NEW LOVE, a record that has since amassed over 30 million streams in its first six months. He hit the road with a 105-date world tour - selling out esteemed venues across Europe and North America, including a sold-out Royal Albert Hall in London.

To top it off, he’s coming back to New Zealand for three shows – Christchurch on November 13th (sold out), Wellington on November 14th and Auckland on November 15th (sold out).

And then home to Australia to close out the year with a final run of capital city shows - including his first arena performance at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena.

He now returns with ‘Cyclones’ - an energetic, sun-soaked single destined to soundtrack the summer. Blending Ziggy’s signature lyrical vulnerability with a more atmospheric folk-pop sound, ‘Cyclones’ is both an earworm and an evolution in his sound, marking continued growth from acoustic storyteller to genre-blending craftsman.

On the songwriting process, Ziggy comments that “This song first landed on my lap in Fiji on a surf trip in 2024. I raced back from coffee, and managed to catch it then and there. It's so easy to blame the weather for our own stormy lives. I know I do it all the time. It's looking back and seeing old habits still being true. And thinking that, it doesn't matter if things weren't going to last forever, it's just asking myself - did I really do enough? Or did I just walk away like I always do? It's about being attracted to chaos, like a moth to a flame; you know it's a mess in the making but you can't help it sometimes.”

With over 1.3 billion global streams, multiple ARIA Platinum and Gold certifications, and three APRA Awards for Most Performed Blues & Roots Work, Ziggy has quietly built one of the most successful independent music careers in Australia.

His breakout hit ‘Runaway’ has surpassed 118 million Spotify streams, is 3× Platinum in Australia, 1x Platinum in New Zealand and Gold in Canada, and continues to resonate a decade on. Songs like ‘Love Me Now’ (Gold in New Zealand), ‘Laps Around the Sun’ (3× Platinum AU, Gold in New Zealand), and ‘Gone’ (2× Platinum AU, Gold in New Zealand), ‘Heaven’ (Gold in New Zealand) and ‘Days In The Sun’ (Gold in New Zealand) have anchored his rise from street busker to global touring artist.

His touring footprint spans Europe, the UK, North America, South America, and Southeast Asia. Recent tours saw 3500+ cap sell-outs in Germany, debut performances in Brazil and Mexico, and a six-month advance sell-out at Royal Albert Hall - proving his grassroots global appeal remains as strong as ever.

His upcoming tour sees Ziggy hitting some of the biggest stages of his career in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne later next month, including his first ever arena show at Margaret Court Arena. The tour will be entirely all ages (Auckland is 13+) and will promote Ziggy’s commitment to the Green Touring Initiative - an initiative founded by Ziggy, that focuses on reducing environmental impact, educating fans on local causes, and giving back to the communities that host these special shows. Ziggy will be joined by Mountain Boy for all three New Zealand shows.

Mountain Boy is the stage name of Australian-born singer-songwriter and producer Aaron Clarke. Now based in New Zealand, Mountain Boy has built a global and loyal fanbase by staying true to the music. Recognized for his deep understanding of folk music, he's supported acts like Boy & Bear, The Paper Kites, and Avalanche on their trans-Tasman tours as well as headlining his own sold-out shows. In 2024, he released his debut album THE DAYS, a self-produced folk-rock monument that continues to resonate almost two years later.

For Ziggy, the new single ‘Cyclones’ doesn’t just close out a record year - it’s a signal of what’s to come: bolder production, deeper songwriting, and the same uncompromising independence that’s powered Ziggy Alberts’ journey from busking street corners to the world stage.
