Wheatus will return to Australia and make their long awaited live debut in New Zealand on an epic run of shows through January 2026 performing their iconic self titled album IN FULL!
It has been 25 years since the release of the album and its timeless smash hit, Teenage Dirtbag, yet somehow the song is arguably the biggest it has ever been.
You definitely know THAT song, but for those needing a reminder about the enduring magic of “Teenage Dirtbag’, Wheatus’ iconic debut single, released back in 2000, remains a cultural touchstone a quarter of a century later.
The viral "Teenage Dirtbag photos" trend on TikTok has attracted over a million participants, including celebs like Madonna, Lady Gaga, Mark Ruffalo, Lil Nas X, Jon Bon Jovi, Chevy Chase and the hashtag #teenagedirtbag has been viewed over 2 billion times! The song’s universal appeal has also led to it being featured in Netflix’s “Big Mouth,” Disney’s “Cruel Summer,” and in 2023, it incredibly re-entered the UK Top 40 charts!
Against all odds, this fresh frenzy has led to the band playing some of the most prestigious gigs of their career, sharing the stage with the likes of Alice Cooper, Blondie, Busted, Everclear, Hoobastank, Living Colour, Phantom Planet, The Wallflowers, Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional, The 1975, Muse, Jack White, Blink-182, Paramore and Coheed & Cambria
In 2023, Wheatus embarked on an unprecedented 47 date tour of the UK and Ireland and then came back to play to more than 20 000 people at Download UK in 2024.
Most recently, Wheatus did massive tours of both the USA and UK with their old friends Bowling For Soup, to some of the largest sold out crowds both bands have seen in their entire careers.
And just last month, Brendan jammed with an unassuming fan - Ed Sheeran!
With all that performing, Wheatus are a finely tuned rock and roll machine, committed to spend every waking moment celebrating the anniversary of their debut album that still means so much to so many. In addition to playing their awesome debut record in full each night they’ll also be taking requests from their Australian and New Zealand fans for any other favourites from their three decade career - a ritual they’ve upheld at headline shows for almost 20 years now.
So grab two tickets and don’t say maybe…
