Over 100 acts have now been announced for the four-day music and camping festival, with the official campers night pre-party starting on Dec 28th, before the festival kicks off across four stages on Dec 29th.
Across these acts and stages are 70% local artists - most notably at Rhythm and Vines’ Waiohika Warmup on Dec 28th - exclusive to onsite campers. 2025’s lineup includes sets from powerhouse up-and-comers INMOTION, Lady Jesus, Ella Monnery, Mikeyy and more. Kiwi heavy hitters such as Lee Mvtthews, Montell2099, SACHI and Balu Brigada began their careers on these very stages, so it’s safe to say that this year’s Waiohika Warmup artists are ones to watch.
Festival partners are also bringing their summer best, with sponsor activations all over Waiohika Estate. Including the One NZ Vines Stage & One NZ VIP Camp, X by Long White Hilltop Bar, Red Bull Shred Shed, Uber One Diner, Platypus Kicks Club, Sweet Spot and Mini Putt from McDonald’s, Bodyarmor Lyte, Speights Bar and the George FM Grand Central.
By setup time, Rhythm and Vines mirrors a temporary township, with power, sanitation, medical facilities, water infrastructure, roads and camping zones all being brought in by thousands of onsite workers. Rhythm and Vines is proud to employ hundreds of locals throughout the setup and festival execution process - as well as partnering with community initiatives such as the SuperGrans Tairāwhiti Trust. 81 year old Chairwoman of SuperGrans Tairāwhiti Molly Pardoe is set to take the stage on December 30, becoming the oldest artist to perform on the festival stage. The latest economic impact survey (2024) showed an increase of regional GDP in Gisborne of $4.24 million.
With sustainability and eco-friendliness easily queried through an event of this size and impact, the Rhythm and Vines team work tirelessly each year to continually place this element at the forefront of their planning - with this year’s offerings including BOOKATENT - combating single use tents entering the festival. The R&V team also partner with local charity Helping Hands to clean up leftover tents to sell and repurpose the profits back into Gisborne’s local kindergarten and kura. Rhythm and Vines has also launched GREENFIELDS this year - a 200-spot campsite designed around sustainability - as well as a reusable drinkware and recyclable/compostable serveware system at bars/vendors to reduce single‑use plastic.
