Canada’s biggest alt-rock export Mother Mother are thrilled to announce the supports acts for their Australian and New Zealand tour which hits our shores this November. They will be supported by Ūla across all shows with total tommy joining the tour in Sydney and Mid City joining in Melbourne.
“We are beyond thrilled to be returning to Australia again with some great support acts,” says Mother Mother vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Ryan Guldemond. “We adore our fans in Australia and love touring there. We’ve always been met with wide open arms and we can’t wait to create an epic night of music along with some of the country’s greatest artists!”
Their highly anticipated album, Grief Chapter, was released earlier this year on February 16 via Warner Records. The band has been touring the world ever since the album’s release with dates in UK, Europe, North America, South America, Mexico, Asia, and soon in one of their favourite places to tour, Australia.
Mother Mother is comprised of Ryan Guldemond (vocals, guitar), Molly Guldemond (vocals, keys), Jasmin Parkin (vocals, keys), Ali Siadat (drums) and Mike Young (bass), Mother Mother are best known for their deep connection with their fans, and for bringing stadium-sized energy to their live show, no matter the stage.Their explosive follow-up to “Hayloft,” “Hayloft II” connected with fans around the world and is now certified Gold in the US and approaching Platinum in their home country of Canada. A string of #1 radio hits in Canada, 8 billion global streams, and multiple Billboard chart appearances cement their global success. The quintet spent most of the last year touring the world playing to sold-out audiences in theaters to stadiums, with multiple sold-out headline tours in Europe, UK, Canada, Australia and the U.S. as well as festival plays at Reading + Leeds, Lollapalooza in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Berlin, Corona Capital in Mexico, Pukkelpop Belgium, Frequency Festival in Austria, Lowlands in The Netherlands and more.
After generating well over 30 million global streams for her previous releases, an online fanbase of more than 1.6 million, and a series of blistering sets at The Great Escape 2023, Ūla and her music, are clearly in a class of their own. Her on-stage reputation has already paved the way for Ūla to share the stage supporting the likes of international stars Amy Shark (AU), and Alfie Templeman (UK). With support for Ūla constantly expanding, not surprisingly, so does industry demand. In the past 6 months alone, Ūla has been hand-picked to perform multiple industry showcases, most recently at the upcoming celebration of new music festival SXSW Sydney, and the industry heavyweight gathering, BIGSOUND. The Alt-Pop Princess is making strides towards the completion of her debut EP.
total tommy arrives armed with a boldness that is instantaneous and infectious, both on record and in person. With great depth in her creative range and sonic versatility, comes a quiet confidence of an artist in control. total tommy sounds like the first time you got high, because she broke your heart, and makes you wanna do it all over again. total tommy is an artist to experience from the front row with your friends, where she’ll leave nothing on the sidelines with a willingness to share herself and her experiences.
MID CITY churns incendiary indie anthems, microwave-ready for a mainstage sing-along. With an impressive live reputation already brewing, the group quickly took off for stages across the globe, slaying sweaty club shows across Germany, the UK and Australia including packed out shows at BIGSOUND, Reeperbahn Festival, an unholy mud fest of a show at The Hills Are Alive Festival and a main stage sundown slot at New Years Eve on the Hill. Millions of streams later, MID CITY aren't about to slow down.
