Eyehategod announce Celtic Death, Slumbug, and Caldera as local support acts for the Turn Troubled Tables New Zealand Tour 2024, hitting Auckland and Wellington this July.
Celtic Death is not a band but a disgusting force of nature. They’ll be bringing their brutal brand of death metal to open for Eyehategod’s Wellington show, following three cassette releases. Doom In Room Final Chapter, one of their most ambitious recordings to date, was tracked by the ever talented James Woods (Beastwars) and Matai Szwed of punk distro ‘Razored Raw’ fame.
Slumbug packed out Whammy bar in 2019 for Eyehategod’s last show here and we couldn’t get enough. 5 years on and they’ll be opening the Auckland show with their wall of glorious sludge blended with Riot Grrrl punk and stoner influence. The self described “shit talking, dope smoking, head banging babes who just want to smash things” only keep getting better.
Prepare for a raw, visceral onslaught of fuzz as Caldera (New Plymouth) will take the stage at both Auckland and Wellington shows. They deliver a sonic assault of the primal fury reminiscent of Meth Drinker, Dystopia, and more, leaving audiences battered. With bone-crushing riffs, earth-shaking basslines, and relentless percussion, they conjure a desolate and bleak atmosphere, dragging you into the abyss of sonic oblivion.
