Justin Timberlake - Suit And Tie

By AJ Muldrew

The much anticipated return of Justin Timberlake after his time away from music in persuit of film and fashion, has been hyped for months and the "Sexyback" singer has returned with the new single 'Suit and Tie'.

With all of the hype surrounding the single, numerous tweets from the singer himself and vast advertising all over the internet for Timberlake's upcoming 'The 20/20 The Experience', the single had a lot of expectations to live up to, and unfortunately it failed to deliver.

As JT's first official single in almost 6 years, 'Suit and Tie' features both Timbaland and Jay-Z, and drifts away from the pop sound that built Timberlake's previous 'Futuresex/Lovesounds' into a hit album. The single's vocals instead lead you in as JT claims to "show you a few things", by combining a heavy bassline with classical sounds from the 70's.

The chorus consisting of, "I be on my suit and tie shit" is repetitive enough to keep you humming it around the house, but overall the song lacks depth and doesn't light a candle to Justin's previous hits of 'Sexyback'and 'My Love'.

It's not completely bad, his Grammy performance of the song proved that it comes across better in a live setting, and as the showman that Justin Timberlake is, maybe for this next album that is his intention.

A dissapointing lead single overall. Let's hope that the album 'The 20/20 Experience' set for release in March, can bringthe "Sexyback" that we know and love from JT.
