/Two-time Grammy winners and multi-platinum artists Pentatonix have sold out their only New Zealand concert! The a cappella phenoms have been selling out shows worldwide and it can now be confirmed that Pentatonix’s first ever New Zealand show is moving to Vector Arena on Saturday 10 September!
GA tickets from Town Hall will be valid for the upgraded venue, Vector Arena. Those who purchased seated tickets will be contacted directly by Ticketmaster and will be allocated a new, comparable seat and ticket for Vector Arena. Since bursting onto the scene in 2011, Pentatonix have taken instrument-free music to a whole new level, igniting a massive global following in the process. Their YouTube channel numbers alone are stunning, having amassed more than 1.57 billion views and 10.7 million subscribers.
Based out of Arlington Texas, harmonic trio Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi and Kirstin Maldonado first bonded as choir-mates in high school, later recruiting bass Avi Kaplan and beatboxer Kevin Olusola to form Pentatonix.
Their music is defined by their own arrangement style, an unexpected stylistic range that effortlessly moves from electronica, to reggae, to dubstep and more, tight vocal harmonies, deep and steady vocal basslines, and a diverse range of vocal percussion and beatboxing.
All seven Pentatonix releases have peaked within the Top 5 on Billboard’s Digital Albums Chart with six of those releases reaching the Top 10 or higher on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart.
Most recently, the group received gold certifications for their ‘Daft Punk’ medley and cover of Imagine Dragons’ ‘Radioactive’ (ft. Lindsey Stirling), while That’s Christmas To Me was the fourth bestselling album of 2014 in America with 2x platinum certification.
In 2015, Pentatonix delivered their fourth self-titled studio album (out now via Sony Music Australia), a US certified gold release of all-original material that topped the Billboard 200 chart and debuted in the top 5 of the ARIA Album Chart. The most recent single from the album ‘If I Ever Fall In Love’ (ft. Jason Derulo) has already picked up 4.5 million video views in the short time since its premiere.
With a penchant for selling out shows in record time, fans best act quick to secure their tickets to a show that is sure to have audiences every bit as vocal as the performers, cheering wildly at every song.
