Emily Fairlight shares music video for ‘Drag The Night In’
/Following on from the success of her recent single, ‘The Escape’, Emily Fairlight releases her stunning 12-track sophomore album, Mother Of Gloom.
The album, brimming with lush, dreamy soundscapes, was recorded in Austin, Texas, with Doug Walseth of The Cat’s Eye Studio, with backing instrumentation from a heady dose of talented musicians, featuring Cully Symington (Bright Eyes and Okkervil River), Doug Walseth and Andrew Bain (Fur Patrol).

that leads the listener on a journey of devastatingly honest storytelling told with fragile, open-hearted lyrics. Emily’s unique and bewitching vocal delivery evokes the feeling of 70’s-esque Laurel County alt-folk by the likes of Judy Collins. “There are countless written songs that have come and gone since the release of my first album, but only in the last couple of years have I felt my writing change into something I wanted to share. Emily is a Wellington-based poet and songwriter, who has been composing and performing for over a decade across Australia, New Zealand and the USA.
