Two Daze: Local Music Made In 48 Hours

‘Two Daze: Local Music Made In 48 Hours’ is a collection of music written, performed and recorded over one weekend in Auckland and Wellington.

Featuring tracks from a selection of New Zealand artists, 'Two Daze’ is the product of the creative process under pressure.

New Zealand music is just as relevant today as it’s ever been, and just as technology has evolved for how an audience receives and listens to music, it has also shaped the way it is created. The tracks on ‘Two Daze’ have been produced in studios, bedrooms, and over the internet, showcasing how music is being made in 2018.

With the project being mastered by Steven John Marr (Kane Strang, Doprah) and artwork by Jack Furniss, both from Aotearoa, ‘Two Daze’ is truly local and 100% homegrown.

The first track to be premiered from the compilation is The Grow Room - Playa Play The Game (feat. Affsid Kidjhagiffy, Cleophus, Foolish Soto, Hasji, Dave Urso, Edamame).  Recorded entirely over the internet, the Auckland-based collective deliver a slice of innovative electronic hiphop, utilising the talent from across The Grow Room whanau.  See the Soundcloud link below.

Tracks will revealed over the coming weeks, leading up to the release of the full ‘Two Daze: Local Music Made In 48 Hours’ album on Friday 18 May.

Proudly sponsored by Atomic Coffee Roasters, from release date the 'Two Daze’ compilation will be streaming on Spotify, Apple Music and other online platforms, and available exclusively for download on Bandcamp - daddysrecords.bandcamp.com.

Keep an ear out for special podcasts exploring the making of ‘Two Daze’ over the next few weeks.  Cheers to NZ Music Month for their support!
