Hard to believe it’s been ten whole years since Yours and Owls Festival emerged from the walls of an art café in the back streets of Wollongong, evolving from a one-stage beach party featuring local prodigies to the multi-stage mainstay on the national festival calendar we have today. Ten years of bringing international superstars to
The Gong and witnessing local heroes grow and leave the city clutches to chase global success. What a ride it’s been!
Yours and Owls return to Wollongong City, Dharawal Country, on March 1st and 2nd, 2025, continuing the tradition of bringing exceptional talent to The Gong!
With great pleasure, we welcome Ireland’s FONTAINES D.C., lauded saviours of post-punk; the Grammy-nominated and Mercury Prize short listers are being heavily credited for leading the resurgence of love for guitar bands on big stages, and we are here for it! Their unique blend of post-punk and Irish influences, insightful lyrics and cultural commentary have snagged them a place as
influential figures in contemporary discussions around identity and society. You gotta love anyone who has the guts to kick off public beef with the resurrected entity that is Oasis.
Floridian rapper DENZEL CURRY is a force to be reckoned with; his dynamic blend of hip-hop, punk, trap, and experimental sounds has taken him from the underground via seminal Soundcloud collabs as part of the rap collective Raider Klan to stadium supports with the likes of Billie Eilish and festival headline slots. He is being hailed as one of the most versatile, critically acclaimed rappers of our time, collaborating across genres with hardcore acts like Bad Brains and Fucked Up, rappers Joey Bada$$, producer Kenny Beats, and of course, who could forget his jjj Like A Version cover of Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Bulls On Parade’.
Ahhhh THE KOOKS! One of Australia’s most familiar and favourite festival headliners! When you look back at the sea of mid-noughties indie bands, there are few still standing and even fewer, some fifteen years later, who are still experiencing career highs. Their perfect blend of indie rock and pop sensibilities, catchy melodies, and anthemic songs like ‘Naïve’ and ‘She Moves in Her Own Way’, resonate with music fans across the ages.
Grammy Award-nominated GOO GOO DOLLS are coming to Wollongong! Bringing with them their swoon-worthy Gen X anthems of angst-ridden love! Goo Goo Dolls have quietly broken records, contributed a string of staples to the American songbook, connected to millions of fans, and indelibly impacted popular music for three-plus decades. They have been covered by the likes of THE Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers and Maggie Rogers. Their iconic single ‘Iris’ clutched #1 on the Hot 100 for 18 straight weeks and would be named “#1 Top 40 Song of the Last 20 Years.” On the heels of going viral on TikTok, the track recently achieved seven-times-platinum status. It re-entered the Billboard charts, yet again proving the timelessness of Goo Goo Dolls’ illustrious catalogue.
These guys will be joined by an overabundance of international and Australian acts, including;
ELDERBROOK, HOCKEY DAD, HONEY DIJON, JPEG MAFIA, THE JUNGLE GIANTS, ORVILLE PECK, PEACH PRC, SALUTE, THE VERONICAS, ALLDAY, BABE RAINBOW, COTERIE, CYRIL, DICE, THE DREGGS, FRANKIE STEW & HARVEY GUNN, GRENTPEREZ, ISABEL LAROSA, MAGDALENA BAY, MAY A, MARK BLAIR, POND, RICHY MITCH & THE COAL MINERS, SAM TOMPKINS, SAN CISCO, SLOWLY SLOWLY, SYCCO, WUNDERHORSE, BATTLESNAKE, BEAN MAGAZINE, BODYJAR, THE BELAIR LIP BOMBS, C.O.F.F.I.N, CROCODYLUS, KELI HOLIDAY, KITSCHEN BOY, LE SHIV, MISS KANINNA, NICK WARD, RA RA VIPER, SATIN CALI, TOTAL TOMMY, Y.O.G.A and more to be announced.
Four stages across two days, a wonderland of music, local arts, incredible food, and plenty of bevs by the beach in Wollongong City, Dharawal Country. Yours and Owls 2025 will be 16+ in 2025, all people aged 16 + 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
