DENZEL CURRY SUPPORT ACTS 3% AND MELODOWNZ
Denzel Curry, one of the leaders of rap’s new underground has announced supports for his upcoming Mischievous South 2025 World Tour, arriving Down Under next month. First Nations Supergroup 3% will join for Australian dates, with Māori/Samoan rapper Melodownz opening in New Zealand.
Multiple ARIA-Award winning group 3% has been hailed as one of the most important up and coming voices/breakthrough talents in Australia. They’ve released an impressive run of critically-acclaimed singles including, “OUR PEOPLE” featuring The Presets, “Sleezy Steezy Cool” featuring Tia Gostelow, “Coming Home” paying homage to Jimmy Little’s “Royal Telephone” and “Won’t Stop” featuring Jessica Mauboy, which became the official Supercars 2024 theme song.
Melodownz has released a string of standout tracks that cement his place in this new electronic/breakbeat lane. Collaborating with both New Zealand and Australian artists, his recent releases include “HIGH VIBRATION” (with producer-artist Dera Meelan and rapper deadforest), “MELLOW CALM & CHILL” (produced by vibrant producer-artist Hyan and producer .rede), “MeloDub (828)” (produced by Hyan and NZ Garage legend producer Caru), and “DIRECTIONS” (featuring Australian-Māori artist and singer Pania). These tracks highlight his ability to bridge cultures and styles, infusing his roots with forward-thinking sounds.
The Mischievous South 2025 World Tour will start in Brisbane at The Tivoli on February 21, before heading down to Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on February 22, Shed 10 in Auckland on February 27, and finishing off at Metro City in Perth on March 4. Fans can also catch Denzel Curry at Yours & Owls Festival in Wollongong on March 1 and at Palace Foreshore in Melbourne on March 2.
