Tour News - Chaka Khan announces special guest DJs for Australia & New Zealand Shows this month

The incomparable Grammy Award winner, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, and global pop culture icon CHAKA KHAN returns to New Zealand and Australia this month and today announces several special guest DJs joining the tour.
Legend of Detroit, Marcellus Pittman will join Chaka Khan in Melbourne and at her first Sydney show, as well as Frank Booker in Auckland and Setwun for the final Sydney show.
The ‘Chaka 50 Years of Music’ tour commences next week in Auckland with a sold-out show at the Civic Theatre on April 16, followed by Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on April 18, and concluding at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, where she performs April 22 and 23.
Detroit-based DJ and producer Marcellus Pittman has become legendary for his deep, soulful house music and eclectic DJ sets. A member of the influential 3 Chairs collective, alongside Theo Parrish, Moodymann, and Rick Wilhite, he has significantly shaped Detroit’s iconic sound across his career and headed up his own label, Unirhythm, which showcases his innovative productions.
Frank Booker has built a worldwide reputation for his DJ sets, edits, and studio work. His production output has been highly acclaimed, and he has previously performed alongside Moodymann, DJ Harvey, Gilles Peterson, Folamour, and Ron Trent, among many others.
Setwun is the musical brainchild of producer Josh Panakera-Molony and one of Australia’s most in-demand DJs. Some of the world’s most sought-after tastemakers have supported his productions, including Gilles Peterson, Carista, Bradley Zero, and many more.
