New Zealand’s most legendary rock event just got even bigger. On September 26, 2025, Blindspott will headline The Rock 2000 at Spark Arena in a one-of-a-kind performance.
The band will perform their iconic 2002 self-titled debut album in its entirety, accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra—Blindspott & The Philharmonic Orchestra—transforming their iconic sound into an unforgettable symphonic experience. A treasured masterpiece in New Zealand’s rock history, Blindspott’s debut album debuted at #1, achieved Triple platinum status, and cemented its place as one of New Zealand’s greatest rock albums of all time. Spawning monster hit singles like “Nil By Mouth” (platinum), “Room to Breathe,” “S.U.I.T,” “Lit Up,” and “Phlex” (2x platinum), these tracks defined a generation. This time, however, these anthems will explode to life in a way never heard before—massive, cinematic, and utterly immersive. The orchestra will add a dramatic new layer to Blindspott’s music, from the rich string arrangements of Mind Dependency to the sweeping instrumental sections of Ilah. Each track will be expanded and elevated, blending the raw energy of rock with the cinematic scope of orchestral music.
This is a monumental moment for New Zealand music—a unique, larger-than-life performance that brings Blindspott’s legacy into an entirely new realm.
“This isn’t just another gig — it’s the holy day on the rock ‘n’ roll calendar," says The Rock’s Content Director, Brad King. “Every year, we bleed for this thing — months of planning, late nights, loud music, and louder opinions. But it’s all worth it when the lights go up and 6000 legends are screaming every lyric back at us from the top 20 Live Ceremony. Last year, we lit up the freakin’ SkyTower with #1 song ‘Foo Fighters Everlong’ — that’s how deep this runs. Rock 2000 Live is our Bogan’s Xmas, love letter of sorts to the fans, the bands, and the chaos that is rock music. And this year? We’re going bigger, louder, and better than ever with something very special.”
With more acts to be announced, don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime experience at The Rock 2000 Live.
