Comedian Russell Peters adds second Auckland show

Due to high demand, global comedy phenomenon Russell Peters has added a second New Zealand show at the Civic Theatre in Auckland.

The show features all new material, plus Peters’ signature interactions with the audience.  Peters says, “I love getting to know my audience.  It’s a collaboration between us.”

Peters last toured Australia and New Zealand in 2015 to sold out arenas and says “I’ve been building the new act in clubs across the States over the past year and I’m very happy with it.”

Peters returns to live touring after taking time off stage for the filming of his last special, Almost Famous for Netflix in April 2016 in Toronto.   In between, he’s produced and starred in his own comedy-drama limited series for Netflix, The Indian Detective which also stars Anupam Kher (The Big Sick, Silver Linings Playbook), William Shatner (Star Trek), Christina Cole (Suits, Casino Royale), Mishqah Parthiephal (Keeping Up with the Kardashians).  This series will air in December on Netflix globally.

Peters has also appeared in the still unreleased films, The Clapper with Ed Helms, Amanda Seyfried and Tracy Morgan, Supercon with Australian actor Ryan Kwanten and John Malkovich and Public Schooled with Judy Greer.

One of David Letterman’s favourite comics, the legendary raconteur of weird stories, comedian Jake Johannsen will also perform on this tour.

THE DEPORTED WORLD TOUR will take Peters around the world with shows well into 2019. His last tour travelled to over 26 countries with over 200 performances and more than 300,000 fans in attendance.
