First performers announced for 2019 Auckland International Buskers Festival

An unmissable line-up of international and local performers will hit the streets over Auckland Anniversary Weekend with energetic displays of breakdancing, music, hula-hoops, fire stunts, acrobatics and more! The Auckland International Buskers Festival 2019 returns to Auckland’s CBD and Waterfront for another year, with four full days of crowd-pleasing delights from January 25 – 28, 2019.

The first two acts have been confirmed, and set to stun audiences are award-winning French/Australian street performance collective Surprise Effect, and London-based enigmatic multi-hoop artist Satya Hoops. With their dynamic and interactive style of breakdancing and hip hop, Surprise Effect offer a show that fuses acrobatics and theatricality with a powerful message. The highly skilled Satya Hoops has captivated audiences world-wide with her hula-hooping spectacles, including the likes of royalty and presidents. Heading around the globe to over 42 countries, her multi-hooping combines balance, strength, and flexibility in amazing displays with dozens of hoops.

Ten extraordinary performers will come from far and wide with thrilling performances to entertain the Auckland crowds.
