Ziggy Alberts includes Auckland as part of world tour

In celebration of the new album ‘Laps Around The Sun’, Ziggy Alberts is embarking on his first world tour – including a one-off show at Auckland’s Tuning Fork on Friday, December 7.

Independent singer/songwriter, free-surfer & environmental enthusiast from the East Coast of Australia, Ziggy Alberts first picked up the guitar in 2011, and has been pushing the boundaries and expectations of self-funded independent artists ever since. His dedicated grassroots following has allowed him to share his music around the world, singing heartfelt stories of personal endeavours and experiences, ocean-side upbringing, environmental issues and life on the road.

At only 24 years old Ziggy Alberts has released four records, co-founded his own label Commonfolk Records, played sold-out tours across the world, while his music has amassed over 95 million streams globally. His music “sits alongside those early Ben Howard cuts or even Jack Johnson, that kind of slick but still endearingly earnest musicality,” (Clash U.K.). This is the perfect opportunity for Auckland to experience his folk-hewn, modern-facing songs.
