The Musical Box to tour the Genesis album 'Selling England By The Pound'
/Licensed and supported by Genesis and Peter Gabriel, Montreal-based Genesis’ tribute The Musical Box recreates the iconic show featuring music from the prog pioneers 1973 album Selling England By The Pound. Original and replica costumes, props and lighting from the 1974 tour, bring Genesis’ eccentric performances back to life again with giant sunflowers, bat wings, gladiators and double necked guitars.
Hailing from Montreal and taking their name from the track included in 1971 album Nursery Cryme, The Musical Box formed in 1993 with the purpose of commemorating the twentieth anniversary of Selling England By The Pound.
Presenting music from 70s Genesis repertoire, their shows reproduce visuals and theatrical elements which gave Genesis’ performances their mystical and unique character. Since their formation, The Musical Box have presented close to 1000 concerts across the world to more than one million spectators, from The Royal Albert Hall in London, the Olympia in Paris to the Bell Center in Montreal.
The Musical Box’s Selling England By The Pound tour hits the UK this year for the first time in seven years, before heading to Australia and New Zealand in early 2018.
