The Nudge announced as opening act for Midnight Oil's NZ shows

Midnight Oil will make their hugely anticipated return to New Zealand shores this September for arena shows in Auckland and Christchurch. Currently out on the monster 72 date “The Great Circle 2017” tour, Midnight Oil are proving to be in true form, enthralling audiences at every show.

Just announced, kiwi band The Nudge will be opening proceedings at both New Zealand concerts. Initially formed to expand Ryan Prebble’s solo blues project, The Nudge with the addition of Iraia Whakamoe (drums) and James Coyle (keys/bass) have just released their sophomore album Dark Arts, pushing a new wave of prog rock and sonic psychedelia.

Having built themselves a solid reputation for their live show, The Nudge deliver a unique combination of authentic musical arrangements, awash with screaming guitars, vintage tones, wailing keys and heavy grooves keeping the dance floor at the heart of the music. Raw and energetic, The Nudge are best experienced live!

This will be Midnight Oil’s first headline New Zealand shows since playing the Supertop in 1990. They later returned to play Mountain Rock Festival in 1995 still making it well over 20 years since New Zealand audiences have had the true satisfaction of watching the band live! Seeing Midnight Oil in full flight is to experience the transcendent, kinetic power of live rock & roll.  They leave you inspired to live life more passionately and to Get Involved. This September is New Zealand’s time to Get Involved.
