Mercury Bay Music Festival just one week away
/We are days away from the 2017 Mercury Bay Music Festival and all the final preparations are being made for the “Village of Music”.
There are many genres of music being offered from international, Kiwi and local artists, some well-known, some not. More details and our programme can be found HERE.

Festival Hours and Venues
The three main Festival concert venues are the Whitianga Town Hall, the Whitianga Hotel Garden Bar and the Ray White Auction House.
Festival hours will run from 11.00am to 11pm, 11am to 8pm and 11am to 8.30pm respectively for the above venues, on Saturday June 3 and Sunday June 4.
Concert times are as per the Festival programme, and are subject to last minute changes. Your Day or Weekend pass buys you free-range access to all of the venues. This means you can move between venues to catch your favourite acts as per our Festival Programme.
Satellite venues (partner cafes and restaurants) will run to their own hours. Please check with them directly for their plans
Workshops will be held on both Saturday and Sunday in Mercury Bay Area School’s Performing Arts Centre, apart from the Mercury Festival Big Gospel Sing workshop and performance, which will take place in the Crossroads Church.
The Gospel Concerts on Sunday will be held at the Crossroads Church (opposite New World).
Tickets
Tickets may be sold at the door of the Festival, space allowing. There will be a surcharge.
On arrival, please go to Festival HQ to trade your ticket for a wristband, colour-coded to your ticket variety. This wristband will gain you entry into the three main concert venues. Please wear it at all times. NO WRISTBAND - NO ENTRY.
Satellite Venues (Partner cafes and restaurants) will also have music and your entry subject to their hours and entry criteria.
If still available, tickets can be purchased on the weekend via EFTPOS or cash, at Festival Headquarters, or for credit card purchases at Whitianga iSITE, or online via Eventfinda.
Alcohol at the Venues
The Whitianga Town Hall and Whitianga Hotel will be licensed venues, as such you may be asked for ID upon entry and bar staff do still have the right to ask for proof of age for the sale of alcohol. Security and event management have the right to search your bag.
No animals other than guide dogs are permitted in the venues.
In line with our Liquor License: Alcohol can only be bought and consumed on site, and will be available for sale from 3pm to 10.30pm at the Town Hall, and according to licensing hours at the Whitianga Hotel. No alcohol is permitted in the Ray White Auction House.
MMF will be responsible hosts of alcohol; misuse of alcohol may result in eviction from the event.
The Festival Fan Trail
The Festival Fan Trail is you’re your route around our “Village of Music” A map of our Festival Fan Trail will be on the back of the printed Festival Programme, which you can collect along with your wrist band at check in. Along the Fan Trail will be:
Most of our partner cafes and bars who will be putting on fantastic menus and in some cases, live music. Partner Venues are, The Whitianga Hotel, Espy Café, Grace O’Malley’s, Stoked, Al Camino, The Lost Spring and Frankies.
A variety of food trucks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at various stalls close to the venues.
Buskers and entertainment will be dotted along the Fan Trail for your enjoyment.

Transport
Shuttles, taxis and ferry services will be available to provide safe and sober transport. Please check with them directly about their Festival specials and hours.

Cash/Credit
EFTPOS and credit card facilities will be available for on-the-day ticket purchases at Festival HQ.
There are ATMs throughout the town for cash withdrawals.
Credit card facilities will also be available at the bars at the Town Hall and Whitianga Hotel
Event Management
The event management will be based at Festival HQ. This will be a place for lost and found, health and safety, and any enquiries.
Door Sales
Limited door sales from Festival HQ may be available, but a surcharge will apply.
Security
Security officers will be present at venues to ensure you have a safe day.
Upon entry and at any time during the event, security and event management have the right to inspect bags.
Management reserves the right to remove or refuse entry to ticket holders considered dangerous or a nuisance to others, or who fail to comply with reasonable requests.
Cancellation
The festival will go ahead regardless of the weather conditions.
Changes to the Event
Changes to the published artist line up and programme times, beyond MMF organiser’s control, may occur.
No refund will be offered in these circumstances.
