Frazey Ford to play NZ show
/The East Vancouver-based singer songwriter exudes equal parts Americana, alt-country and soul. Known as the golden voice from 90's exquisite alt folksters, Be Good Tanyas; Frazey Ford has bloomed as a solo artist with her honey-dipped restraint in her vocals and lyrical intimacies finding a growing audience around the world as her YouTube videos amassed over 2 million views.
The feisty music video for stand-out track Done from her latest critically-lauded album Indian Ocean, caught the viral attention of everyone from NPR Music to Buzzfeed to Rhythms Magazine Australia; which not only showcased her dance moves and sassy strut, but also Frazey’s fabulous jumpsuit collection.
Frazey will bring audience favourites September Fields and Done down under alongside her upcoming single release, a lush reinterpretation of D’Angelos’ When We Get By, due for release on Monday, October 20.
With the momentum of her two solo albums—2010’s Obadiah and 2014’s Indian Ocean—Frazey is returning to Afterlife Studios to record her third outing which will be released by Arts & Crafts Records. Frazey will be taking the seat of co-producer with John Raham (We Are The City, Soujouners, Destroyer), a familiar face from Frazey’s past projects, and her new album will showcase talent from Vancouver and international A-listers alike.
The lightness and hallowed grace Frazey Ford casts on audiences during her live performances lifts melodies to new heights as she sings about renewal, strength, pain, tough truths, knowing when to breath in and let go, trusting yourself, being bold and appreciating all the nuances of love to be found in life.
