Laneway Festival introduces a women’s safe space

The Laneway Festival has announced they've launched a safe space for women at this year’s event.

Designed to be a sanctuary for anyone who identifies as a woman, the space offers non-judgemental support and an area for those needing space away from other festival goers.

There will be charging points for phones to ensure punters can stay in contact with their friends on site, or call home. The women’s safe space will be managed by a dedicated support team and is located stage left (facing the audience) of the Rotunda Stage.

There is a large contingent of security on site, as there is every year. Anyone who needs assistance is encouraged to make themselves known to a security guard or any of the Laneway team.

The forecast is for sunny weather and audience members are reminded to be sunsmart. The new site is 70% bigger than the Silo Park location with plenty of space to relax on the grass and enjoy the shade under the trees. As usual, the festival offers free water at stations across the site, as marked on the site map.

There’s also the usual safezone located to next to the first aid tent by the main entrance and is marked on the map with a frog icon. This is a space where attendees can have a break if they’ve partied too hard.
