Kyle Hall to make debut NZ appearance
/Detroit-native DJ/Producer Kyle Hall is heading to Auckland in June for his debut appearance down-under. Touted as one of Detroit’s contemporary shining lights, Kyle Hall builds on decades of house, techno, jazz and Motown heritage to be one of the city’s most sought after DJ’s.
After debuting on Omar-S’s FXHE label at the age of 17, Hall has firmly established himself via his productions and his own label Wild Oats as one of the leaders of the future-Detroit sound, one that is as techno-referencing as it is funk and jazz influenced.
With his 2013 debut album ‘Boat Party’ taking in glowing accolades and placing 10th and 22nd on both Resident Advisor and XLR8R’s ‘Top Albums of the Year’ lists; his second album ‘From Joy’ came out at the end of 2015 to much celebration, particularly over the obvious jazz influence on the record.
Outside of his studio productions, the label owner is one of the modern underground music scenes most sought after DJ’s – regularly sharing the stage with fellow DJ’s like Floating Points, Four Tet and Theo Parrish on the European festival circuit.
