James reveal Melic as support act for NZ tour

As British 90s icons James prepare to make their way Downunder for their first New Zealand shows, Brit ex-pat rockers Melic have been announced as their support act.

James will play the Powerstation in Auckland on Wednesday, November 9 and the Opera House in Wellington on Thursday, November 10.

Hailing from the UK, but now based in New Zealand, Melic will open for James. Signed to Beatnik Geek Records, Melic cut their teeth in London’s live scene, playing in well known venues such as Koko and Bush Hall. Their 2013 debut album An Hour To Anywhere saw them described as “one of the shining lights of new music to come out of London”.

The band relocated to New Zealand in 2015 and have a new single set to be released in early 2017.

Having risen from Manchester’s legendary Factory Records scene James’ 1993 hit ‘Laid’ defined a decade becoming the soundtrack to early 90s alternative radio and then finding a second life through its use in the hit movie ‘American Pie’. Their first-ever New Zealand shows follow the release of their 14th album, Girl At The End Of The World.
