Sheppard release second album ‘Watching The Sky’
/Sheppard’s second album ‘Watching the Sky’ was revealed today in stores and online, smashing its way to a #1 debut on the iTunes album chart.
After their ode to Australia ‘Coming Home’, Brisbane sibling super-group Sheppard are keeping with the theme as their new track. Sheppard have silenced the nay-sayers, throwing off the shackles of their global smash ‘Geronimo’, with two radio chart-topping hits in the last twelve months with gold-selling ‘Keep Me Crazy’ and platinum-selling ‘Coming Home’.
Refusing to be defined by either their success or their detractors, Sheppard have steered their own ship, focusing on authenticity and delivering great pop songs to keep the world singing.
“With ‘Coming Home’ and now “Hometown”, it’s pretty clear we’ve been on the road a lot these last few years!” laughs singer George Sheppard. “The two are almost companion pieces, with ‘Coming Home’ about how much we love Australia and ‘Hometown’ a love song about how no matter where in the world you are, if you’re with the one you love then you are home.”
“No matter where in the world we find ourselves, through the highs, the lows, records, the shows - home and loved ones are what keep us grounded,” said Amy Sheppard. “They have become our centre of gravity and we couldn’t think of a better thing to celebrate with our second album.”
‘Watching The Sky’ features 14 brand new Sheppard tracks including the Australian chart hits ‘Keep Me Crazy’ and ‘Coming Home’ and Latin American top 10 ‘Edge Of The Night’. The album is available from today on CD, digital and limited-edition vinyl.
