So Below delivers 'Ruin'

Madeline North aka So Below has delivered another perfect slice of dark pop with her brand new single Ruin and is released worldwide today Friday, June 2nd.

Showcasing North’s shimmering pop sensibilities, Ruin was co-written with US electronic pop artist and remixer SOMBEAR (Now, Now) and fellow NZ singer and songwriter extraordinaire Chelsea Jade (Teacups/Watercolours). Says North of the track, “This song was written the day after I finished watching Stranger Things so it definitely has some teen angst and spooky vibes in there. I wrote it with my friends Brad Hale (SOMBEAR, Now, Now) and Chelsea Jade almost a year ago; basically it's about trying to rely on someone who always ends up letting you down. It’s one of my favourite tracks to date."

know enough to keep above watch you fall back down as we start to run i feel it too as it calls to you hit the dark i will come through you think you're safe right behind the door you think the worst of it happened before you're all alone on the highest floor what are you waiting for this is how it feels no use in these tears shadows interfere reach into the clear (i take the blame but you never know) even out this far who knows where we are never where you start we're in the red in empty air acting up don't take me there if you only knew what i've got to loose it's enough that i'm losing you you think you're safe right behind the door you think the worst of it happened before you're all alone on the highest floor what are you waiting for this is how it feels no use in these tears shadows interfere reach into the clear (i take the blame but you never know) even out this far who knows where we are never where you start and now even though you drag me down i will keep you all around (it's all the same) (just take the blame but i know that you never will) (i know you never will)

Ruin releases after the long slow burn of Hard which saw the single included in Spotify’s illustrious New Music Friday playlist in both the USA and Canada with the track now cracking over 250k streams through the platform. Locally, Hard has been supported by Dunedin’s Radio 1, spending 4 consecutive weeks on the listener voted top 11 chart as well as recieving spot plays on George FM. Hard was also included in Radio Hauraki’s Local’s Only rotate, with the video being bestowed ‘Upload of The Week’ status across MTV Australia and New Zealand - gaining rotational feature plays across both territories.

Ruin has received the support of NZ on Air and is included in June’s edition of New Tracks. The single will be released in the UK via Limited Health (S4U, Ravenna). The Music Video for Ruin is set to be released this winter.
