Polyester share new track 'Different For A Boy'

Almost a year since their last release ‘Lucky Me’, Auckland indie-pop group Polyester share their long-awaited new single ‘Different For A Boy’, and it’s a delight.

“I had the title for this song in my head for a long time,” says songwriter Amelia Berry.

“I knew how I wanted the song to feel but not really what I wanted it to be about or how it should sound. When I finally sat down to write it, it took me a long time to accept that I didn’t need to add any complicated re-harmonisations or key changes or anything fancy like that. That it’s just a simple song. Expressing a simple emotion. But then, it’s also become the song I’m most proud of writing so maybe there’s something in that.”

In recent months the five-piece has been working on an as yet untitled debut album, due for release in 2018. The band plays St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival on 29 January 2018.
