Madeline North and Sam Kristofski have renewed their creative partnership to present the dynamic new video for So Below’s latest single Ruin.

Previously working together on the visuals for So Below’s 2016 student radio hit ‘Far’, NZ Director and filmmaker Kristofski (Phoenix Foundation/Fazerdaze) again delivers his signiture style of pacey cuts, rich colour, symbolizm and repeating shots to embrace North’s slice of goth pop perfection which was co-written with Brad Hale (SOMBEAR/Now, Now) and NZ singer/songwriter Chelsea Jade (Watercolours/Teacups).

Voyeuristic and slightly sinister in tone, the clip follows an often blindfolded North as she fumbles her way around a dimly lit house and its grounds; while being watched and followed by a mysterious man. North has previously stated that the Netflix supernatural thriller Stranger Things  was a tonal influence when formulating the track and the video further expresses that sinister feel of never knowing what might lie around each darkened corner. North states, "I’m so happy with how this came out, to me it feels like it fits the song perfectly. I love the colour palette and repetitive shots, and we even managed to wrangle my best friend Anthony to be in it too. Sam did a fantastic job of capturing the mood of the track."

Ruin has amassed over 60,000 streams across Soundcloud and Spotify since its release in  June with a premiere through prestigious UK music site Clash Music and an inclusion in PIAS UK’s Independent Music Monday and Hypemachine’s Popular Spotify playlists being single highlights to date. Tastemaker sites Indieshuffle, Metro.co.uk, High Clouds and EARMILK have also shown hugely positive support for the single along with Radio Hauraki immediately adding Ruin to playlist on release.

So Below live dates are on the horizon for January and February 2018, along with the release of her second EP which is slated for release early next year.
