MAALA to release debut album 'Composure'
/After making waves around the world with the release of his new single Kind Of Love last month, MAALA announces the release of his highly anticipated debut album Composure via Sony Music Entertainment New Zealand on Friday July 29 and will it be available for pre-order on Friday July 8.
MAALA a.k.a. Evan Sinton, sees the sound of his impending album as a natural evolution from his debut EP, which featured singles Touch and In The Air and received over three million streams.
“The album feels like a progression – it’ll feel familiar to some extent. I feel like I’m trying new things out.”
Composure’s 10 tracks were recorded in the autumn at Golden Age Studios in Auckland, with producer Josh Fountain (Leisure). It features writing collaborations with US songwriter MoZella (Miley Cyrus ‘Wrecking Ball’, One Direction ‘Perfect,’) and New Zealand’s own Leroy Clampitt (Justin Bieber – ‘Company’).
The new music has piqued the interested of fans around the globe, including long time supporter Zane Lowe, who hosted the worldwide radio premiere of Kind Of Love on Apple’s Beats 1, noting “a great voice, a brilliantly produced pop record.”
After recent shows in Leeds, London, New York and LA, MAALA is excited to showcase new tracks to NZ audiences as the opening act for Flume’s NZ shows.
