Glen Matlock from the Sex Pistols announces solo Australia and New Zealand shows

Glen Matlock left the Sex Pistols 40 years ago but not before co-writing 'Pretty Vacant' and 'God Save The Queen', eternal rock and roll classics. Glen and his band are hitting Australian shores in November, celebrating the 40th anniversary of Never Mind The Bollocks, playing Pistols classics and choice cuts from his vast repertoire.

An original member of the Sex Pistols he was replaced on bass by Sid Vicious in early 1977.  Within a year the Sex Pistols had limped to an end. After his departure from the Sex Pistols, Glen formed the Rich Kids with Midge Ure, who went onto join Ultravox. He worked on Iggy Pop's Soldier album writing/co penning 4 songs and collaborated with Blondie's Clem Burke in The International Swingers.

In the 1990s Glen emerged as a solo force to be reckoned with. His album Who’s He Think He Is When He’s At Home? recorded for Creation Records, was a full-on guitar album and he continued with a series of fine albums by his band project, The Philistines. He also played bass for one of his favourite groups The Faces on reunion shows between 2009 and 2011.

Glen, has of course, rejoined the Sex Pistols for all subsequent reunion shows.

Glen performs solo shows throughout November in Australia and in New Zealand 40 years since the Sex Pistols'  Never Mind The Bollocks was released. He will be performing songs he wrote for the Sex Pistols.

Glen says ... "I'll be playing songs from all aspects of my checkered career accoustically and telling some stories. There will be some stories behind the songs... some funny tales, some astute, and some sad. But don't worry, it will be fun, I'm not a miserable old po-faced git".
