Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand -- Nadia Reid releases Live at Old St Paul's with NZTrio, her first ever live album, this Saturday, 18th April for Record Store Day 2026.

EXCLUSIVE DENIM BLUE LP - FOR RECORD STORE DAY 2026, THIS SATURDAY, 18th APRIL

Available exclusively at independent record stores across Aotearoa New Zealand, the release captures two extraordinary nights at Old St Paul's in Wellington on 15th and 16th July 2022 comprised of tracks recorded live with NZTrio He Taonga Wairere, New Zealand's foremost piano trio ensemble.

The album features ten tracks drawn from across Nadia's catalogue, with arrangements for violin, cello and piano by New Zealand composer Alex Taylor. The performances are a unique document of a singular creative collaboration: Reid's voice and her band (Sam Taylor, Richie Pickard, Joe McCallum) woven together with NZTrio's Somi Kim (piano), Ashley Brown (cello) and Amalia Hall (violin). The set also includes two beautiful covers: "Ending" by the beloved Aotearoa songwriter Mahinārangi Tocker, and Mazzy Star's "Fade Into You."

Says Reid: "These concerts were very special to me. They were born out of the pandemic and were also my first proper shows since having my first daughter. Alex Taylor arranged these songs so beautifully. Wellington gave me two special nights at Old St Paul's in July 2022. I felt so much love in that room. To sing and play with those musicians, the trio and my steadfast band, was a feeling that's hard to put into words. I felt fully formed and really in the songs. Some of them were written in Wellington, in my flat on Hanson St, during a particularly turbulent time. Ebony Lamb captured the photographs and Anns Taylor brought it all together with the design. Truly a dream team. Over and over again I'm reminded of the goodness of turning pain and experience into art and song that can hopefully live on through the years. I'm so grateful to Chrysalis, Rhythmethod and RSD for pulling this project through."

The concerts were born of lockdown and longing. At a time when live music had all but disappeared, Reid conceived of this collaboration while home with a newborn, dreaming of what might be possible on the other side. When the shows finally happened, they sold out immediately -- a second night added to meet demand.

Live at Old St Paul's With NZTrio is released on Chrysalis Records, with Slow Time Records as the New Zealand label, distributed in New Zealand by Rhythmethod. It is available as a limited edition 1LP on denim blue vinyl, at independent record stores across Aotearoa New Zealand, Saturday 18th April 2026.
