Today, critically acclaimed Australian artist Chet Faker releases his new single ‘Can You Swim?’, in lead up to the release of his upcoming album A LOVE FOR STRANGERS on February 13th 2026 via BMG.
The track is arriving in celebration of Chet Faker’s performance at the Sydney Opera House this past Tuesday, December 2nd.
‘Can You Swim?’ is a deeply vulnerable look into Chet Faker’s perspective on love, exploring a relationship through the concept of facing tidal waves and trying to stay afloat. Nick Murphy, the ARIA-winning songwriter, musician, and producer behind Chet Faker, layers his classically raw vocals with a somber piano arrangement, as he battles over whether he’s going to sink or swim in love.
The track is a beautifully earnest follow up to his previous release ‘This Time for Real’, which explored the balanced weight of expectation that comes with success as an artist.
