Early critical praise for Train On The Island:

"Passionate enigma" - NYT

"One of the most self reflective and honest pieces of music I've heard in a really long time...incredibly refreshing."  - NPR Music

"The magic of Aldous Harding is that she accesses the strange, playful part of being alive: the unselfconsciousness of a child, or of someone entirely alone, moving through pure feeling and nerves, compelled by some private tic…Harding invites us into her self-stimulatory world, where there are no mirrors and no one looking on with judgement." - Pitchfork

“Fiona Apple-esque” - The Needle Drop

“A breezy, lovely one…straightforward and clean feeling, a plodding piano that bursts open midway with guitar, like a mental breakthrough” - The FADER

"It's pretty, it's groovy, it rocks just the right amount. Love the Wurlitzer action by producer John Parish. Love the way Harding and Hawkline drowsily exchange lines. There's a lot to love about it is what I'm saying" - Stereogum

“A dramatic labyrinth that ignites a fuse to the heart’s strangest energies” - Paste

Today, Aldous Harding releases 'Coats,' the third and final single ahead of the release of her upcoming album Train On The Island, which is out this Friday via 4AD. 'Coats' follows early singles 'Venus In The Zinnea' and 'One Stop;' both tracks earned critical praise from New York Times, Pitchfork (Best New Track), NPR Music, The Needle Drop, The FADER and more. The single comes with newly announced tour dates for Australia and New Zealand.

The 10-track LP Train On The Island was co-produced by long-time collaborator John Parish (PJ Harvey, Dry Cleaning) at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales, where the pair recorded Harding’s previous bodies of work, Party (2017), Designer (2019) and Warm Chris (2022). Joining Harding and Parish on Train On The Island were pedal steel player Joe Harvey-Whyte, harpist Mali Llewelyn, synth artist Thomas Poli, drummer Sebastian Rochford (Polar Bear) and Huw Evans (H. Hawkline) on bass, vocals, acoustic/electric guitar and organ.

Train On The Island will be available digitally and on CD, standard black vinyl and limited-edition blue vinyl, pre-order HERE

To celebrate Train On The Island, Harding’s first headline shows since 2023 will kick off during album release week. A full list of tour dates is below – for more ticket information, see  HERE
