Date / Venue: Friday July 22nd, 2016 - Vector Arena, Auckland

Harley Edward Streten, better known by his stage name Flume, took Auckland on a sensational trip last night.

Australian born, Flume brought all his hits to the stage last night, as an arena of all ages were able to be captured in the moment with the all the tunes, such as, 'Holding On' 'You And Me' from his self-titled debut album, and more recent album Skin, 'Never Be Like You' and 'Helix'.

The crowd showed an absolute roar of love with every song that the producer dropped, with doing previous shows in both Dunedin and Christchurch earlier this week, Auckland was by far the most anticipated by all. With simplistic stage lights and gadgets, all the focus was on the man of the hour.

As he looked up every now and again, he showed extraordinary humbleness, as he couldn’t believe the amount of people that showed up to see him perform. The show was a sold out crowd, every corner of the arena was filled with die-hard fans, no on sat down, and why would you with an energy like that! I got to be front and centre and was able to witness the magic pretty much side stage, and let me tell you, this kid has the energy that I haven’t seen in a producer in a while. At only 24 years of age, he was managed to gain a huge international following, with his amazing music creativity, it’s not a surprise he has won more than half of all his nominated work. His work with artists such Lorde, Disclosure, and Sam Smith on remixes of their top hits, has earned him credibility in the music business and he sure knows how to hold his own with the big dogs.

Seeing him play live was incredible, as he improvised some of his mixes and undoubtedly brought the crowd into a state of awe. It’s so satisfying that the kid at 13 who found his first production disc in a cereal box, turned into one of NZ and Australia’s biggest chart toppers. Previously involved in the grouping of What So Not, but left the project due to creative differences, it seems that we can be thankful that Harley stuck with his guns, and is continuing to bring us those absolute bangers! Epic night that’s for sure, such an amazing feeling when you can go to a concert and feel the pulsating energy coming from the arena. All from one man in his element!
