Sola Rosa - Magnetics

With the release of their sixth studio album 'Magnetics', Sola Rosa have returned with an album featuring everything you'd expect from a band of their calibre.

Recorded at frontman Andrew Spraggon's studio in the Auckland suburb ofAvondale, the album features a range of guest vocalists - most notably Kevin Mark Trail (ex-The Streets) who features on the stunning song 'Both Of Us'. Other vocalists featured on the album include Olivier Daysoul, Noah Slee, Jordan Rakei, Tawiah, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Sharlene Hector.

Even with the amount of guests featured on 'Magnetics'; as well as a mesh up of contrasting musical styles, the album as a whole gels really well, is consistent throughout and certainly keeps the flow going making you wonder what is coming round the corner next.

Besides the previously mentioned 'Both Of Us', other stand outs on the album include 'Right On Time, Too Long In The Sun', 'Can We Get It Together' and with it's fantastic gospel harmonics 'Too Long In The Sun'.

Sola Rosa is always one band that fits the bill to have on high rotation over the long summer days... Magnetics certainly does not disappoint and carries on Sola Rosa's enviable reputation as one of NZ's finest and innovative band's around.

So that makes six strong studio albums released by Sola Rosa thus far, long may their streak continue!
