Rising star Kian announces 2019 NZ tour

Presented by Live Nation

Rising global talent Kian is heading to New Zealand shores for two very special shows at Meow, Wellington and The Tuning Fork, Auckland this July. The Australian teen will be sharing music from his newly-released EP Bliss, with Kiwi fans for his debut New Zealand tour.

Things have completely taken off for Kian since winning triple j’s Unearthed High competition in 2018. Extraordinarily, he achieved that feat with the first song he ever wrote; Waiting. In the time since Unearthed High, Kian has travelled the world, participated in the prestigious Bali Songwriting Invitational, performed at the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival and The Great Escape Festival in Europe, before he plays Splendour in the Grass and shows in support of pop influencer Conan Gray.

Mature beyond his 16 years, Kian grew up in a creative community in the Victorian goldfields town of Castlemaine. His father runs hip-hop dance workshops in remote Indigenous communities, while his mum played in bands in her youth. “I was around a lot of creative people and I learnt a lot about expressing myself without being judged by anybody.”

Kian is now preparing to tour the Bliss EP, the next step in his journey. It features Waiting and its follow-up single Childism, which was born from a lo-fi beat discovered on YouTube. It also shows a different side to Kian where he showcases his lyrical integrity and spreads his message that it’s ok to be vulnerable.

New Zealand fans won’t want to miss the opportunity to see this artist at a very exciting point in his burgeoning career.
