British singer-songwriter Bruno Major heads to New Zealand for his debut show this September. Fresh from selling out his Australian run, the R&B singer brings his distinctive, soulful vocals to Auckland’s Tuning Fork, September 24.

Off the heels of a breakthrough year amassing over 250 million streams, multiple sold-out North American tours, a UK arena tour with Sam Smith, song writing with Finneas O’Connell and playing the likes of Live at Leeds and Bonnaroo, Bruno is set to stun as he heads to New Zealand for his first intimate performance.

Having initially worked as a jazz musician and session guitarist, Major moved down from Northampton to London and—inspired by the energy of the city—became obsessed with song writing. He honed his craft writing for other artists while all the time formulating his own musical style; an impossible to pigeonhole blend of sounds that can draw upon anything from James Blake and D’Angelo to Chet Baker and Nick Drake, to create its own, uniquely intoxicating aura.

Spending time in LA saw Bruno set himself a task: to record and release one song a month for 12 months. What’s impressive is not so much that he managed to pull it off, but more that the challenge produced such a remarkable collection of songs, titled A Song For Every Moon. Within the time frame of a month, Major could produce such fully-realised, beautiful and inventive songs and then repeat the trick the following month, twelve times over.

Don’t miss this artist to watch.
