Eleanor Friedberger to play Auckland show

One half of brother-sister duo The Fiery Furnaces, Eleanor Friedberger has released eight studio albums under that moniker. In June she will tour New Zealand and Australia with her band on the back of “New View” her third studio solo record.

After the decade long attachment with The Fiery Furnaces and having relocated from Brooklyn to upstate New York, 'New View' represents the awareness and acceptance of change in Friedberger’s life. Simple arrangements and non-fussy melodies make for a wonderfully buoyant album, dotted with noisey, emotionally direct deviations. It proves the limitlessness creativity of Friedberger, the exciting and uplifting record relays wit and poise with ease. Lyrically, New View communicates reflections of internal trauma, intimate, experiential monologues relayed by a woman that is doing just fine, in retrospect.

Her upcoming New Zealand show will no doubt be rewarding for fans of the seasoned musician gained over her lengthy career.

Special guest for the show is Aldous Harding, who will have recently arrived back in New Zealand after selling out shows across Europe and the UK where her latest single 'I’m So Sorry' is being played regularly on BBC 6 Music. Don’t miss out on seeing Aldous live as she will be recording a new album in July (set for release early 2017) with PJ Harvey's producer John Parish and shortly after that Aldous will be touring the States and returning to UK/Europe at the end of the year.
