Artist: Miller Yule
Date / Venue: Thursday May 26th, 2016 - Little Easy, Auckland
Broadcaster Charlotte Ryan introduced singer/song writer Miller Yule to the packed out crowd at Thursday night’s EP release confessing she had no idea her sound engineer played music, let alone had the musical talent that has seen the youngster’s reputation sky rocket in the past couple of weeks.
Yule has painstakingly been busy putting together his EP acknowledging his success in part to producer dad Phil Yule. The EP is collaboration of songs that were birthed over time and have a style that has a first-time listen appeal, crafted in beauty but technical in approach.
See You ‘Round, Rescue Me, Just Smile were all well received by the vocal crowd while he toyed with a few surprise covers including Beyoncé’s Single Ladies and Springsteen’s I’m On Fire.
The crowd didn’t have to wait long before his catchier-than- hell ditty Shoot Me In The Heart made its appearance at the end. Its redemptive theme and honest lyrics garnishing the biggest applause, a fine song indeed.
The EP is now available to order, check out this talented song writer’s songs, as TV3 reporter Kim Vinnell asked recently in a story about the talented Aucklander “ Is this NZ’s next Kiwi musician to watch out for?”. We think he is.
