Soaked Oats to embark on NZ tour
This July, Soaked Oats are avoiding freezing to the spot by traversing the country in search of snow fever. The burgeoning boys, will be testing out new material live for the first time, alongside songs from their 2017 releases 'Stone Fruit Melodies' and 'No Slip Ups' as they make their way from Dunedin (The Cook) to Auckland (Galatos) and Wellington (Caroline) for a typically exuberant showcase snowcase.
Soaked Oats are a young four-piece band hailing from Dunedin, New Zealand who have been described as "a southern stew of Kurt Vile and Mac DeMarco with a good shake of Kevin Morby ".
Coming to notoriety for writing songs about stoned fruit ('Avocado Aficionado', 'I'm a Peach'), 60+ good-time live shows in a year including a blinder set at Rhythm & Vines 2017/18, and releasing three e.p.s in their short 18 month existence.
The band is made up of lead vocalist Oscar Mein who scribes the clever, witty and thoughtful observations on life. And fruit. Guitarist, Henry Francis and his amazing pedal-board is on the noble path to tone mastery making the instrument sound like it was made by unicorns. Rhythm section Max Holmes(bass) and Conor Feehly (drums) provide the backbone, the funk and keep the party going.
