Lucy Rose announced as support for Ben Folds NZ show
Recently adding shows to his Australian Paper Aeroplane Request Tour to satisfy overwhelming demand, piano-pop virtuoso Ben Folds has announced that up-and-coming English singer-songwriter Lucy Rose will join the Australian and New Zealand tour run as support on her first ever Australasian visit.
A star on the rise, Lucy Rose creates sublime music that is melodic, emotive and thought provoking. With current single ‘No Good At All’, Rose delivers a song that is “… mature, finely-honed, it's another example of her artistry reaching fresh heights.” – Clash
Lucy Rose will land in Australia off the back of an extensive headline Worldwide Cinema Tour, which will take her through Asia, Europe, North America and the UK during September, October and November. On these dates, Lucy will perform songs from her latest album Something’s Changing (Communion Records/Caroline Australia), as well as her previous three releases.
Ben Folds’ upcoming solo New Zealand performance will showcase the artist’s distinctive vocals, deft musicianship, witty lyricism and high-octane onstage energy, across a songbook spanning his entire career. Folds will hand over the reins to his fans halfway through his set, for a Paper Aeroplane Request set, during which audience members will be encouraged to write their song requests onto a piece of paper, to be folded into a paper plane and launched onto the stage on cue. Folds will then randomly select and perform the songs requested.
Widely regarded as one of the most distinctive singer-songwriters of the last 25-years, with sold out Hobart, Brisbane, Canberra and Perth shows already under his belt and tickets for all remaining shows selling quickly, fans are encouraged to secure tickets while they can!
