Fall Out Boy to play NZ show
Fall Out Boy announce their return to Auckland. The group plays The Trusts Arena in Waitakere on 7 March 2018 as part of their worldwide tour for their seventh album, Mania.
The Chicago natives have been perennial chart toppers and sold over 7.5 million albums since emerging as a mainstay of emo’s mid 2000s heyday.
A generation grew up singing their massive hits “Sugar We’re Going Down Down”, “Dance, Dance” and “This Ain’t A Scene It’s An Arms Race” before the band took a three year hiatus and re-emerged armed with even more hits in the form of 2015’s smashes “Centuries” and “Uma Thurman”.
New album Mania is due out in September and the group’s just-released latest single “Champion” is already making waves, once again proving Fall Out Boy’s ability to keep coming back strong with their trademark pop culture sampling lyrical brilliance and punk energy infused pop songwriting.
A group with a massive sound led by two of the biggest personalities in rock of the past decade, vocalist Patrick Stump and lyricist/bassist Pete Wentz, Fall Out Boy have proven that staying relevant and successful is a true art form worthy of celebration. As Rolling Stone said, they are one of the few rock bands in the world capable of competing with the likes of Taylor Swift in the charts. A band that calls their triple platinum comeback album Save Rock and Roll …..
