Openside to open for All Time Low in Auckland
The infectious pop sound of Auckland’s Openside has been catching on all over the place. The group’s debut recording was the single ‘Worth It’ released in mid 2015, and the polished four-piece have impressed with an energetic sound and subversive lyrical smarts since their debut.
On stage, the group has opened for twenty one pilots, Ellie Goulding, Ladyhawke and Melanie Martinez as well as selling out their own headline shows in the city – evidence that Openside are rapidly developing a devoted fan base with their strong pop sensibility and charismatic presence.
In September 2016, they unleashed debut EP, Push Back. The six song EP features recent singles ‘Branches’, ‘Letting It Out’ and four more hook-laden treats. ‘Letting It Out’ saw Openside swerving from their energetic pop-punk roots into new electronic territory and reaching a wider audience across the airwaves.
Openside have been in the studio in early 2017 and promise the release of new music this winter.
Pop punk perfection… that’s All Time Low in a nutshell! They’ve repeatedly topped the charts, sold over 1.5 million albums worldwide, chalked up 100+ million views on YouTube, have 5+ million social media followers, and have sold out London’s Wembley Arena. They are a bona fide worldwide sensation and they’re kicking off a whole new chapter in 2017.
With well-earned recognition for their success, All Time Low have won two AP Awards and two Kerrang! Awards, landed the title of Best Pop Punk Band at the Top In Rock Awards, and were named Band of the Year by Alternative Press Magazine.
