Maribou State (UK) to perform two NZ dates this month
Maribou State (UK) are heading to New Zealand next week to perform shows in Auckland and Wellington. Despite growing up in the same picturesque village in Hertfordshire, Chris Davids and Liam Ivory aka Maribou State customarily ignored each other at school, later on discovering their shared passion for music while attending university
Since 2011, they have built a glowing international reputation through a string of well-loved EPs and a fistful of remixes (for Kelis, Ultraísta, Fatboy Slim and Lana Del Rey). Plaudits from the electronic press have flowed thick and fast alongside support from radio heavyweights: Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Annie Mac, B. Traits, Pete Tong, and Gilles Peterson.
Equally inspired by the dynamics of dancefloor electronica and the rich humanistic potential of live instrumentation and song-craft, Maribou State has worked tirelessly to develop a unique, compelling and deeply soulful marriage of the organic and the synthetic, as best showcased on their debut album Portraits.
Following their recent successes, including a headline set at Rhythm and Vines 2016-2017, Maribou State returns to New Zealand for two exclusive shows in Auckland and Wellington.
