VNZMA Finalist Tommy Nee teams up with Che Fu in 'Million Miles'
It’s rising-star meets industry-great in Tommy Nee’s latest Single Million Miles, to be released Friday 27th October, featuring the one and only Che Fu. Not only is this summer jam Tommy’s first collaboration, but he’s managed to bag one of his favourite artists of all time to do so.
Tommy Nee has come a long way from composing tracks in leaky sheds; Having picked up a degree in Music at the University of Auckland along the way, he’s now recording his debut album and working alongside some of New Zealand’s finest.
With the video, shot on location in Rarotonga, dropping the same day as the Single, this track is practically bursting with feel-good vibes. Million Miles sets the tone for Tommy Nee, whose music is “jammed full of energy and fun”. Inspired by Tommy’s journey from small town NZ to the big smoke that is Auckland, in order to follow his calling, Million Miles tells a story of being there for one another in times of need. “Whether it's distance or time that's separating you from your loved ones, all it takes is a phone call and 'I'll be coming your way'.”
As a proud Niuean, born and bred on the East Coast, Tommy Nee may be a newcomer to the NZ music scene, but he certainly knows how to make an entrance.
Having burst onto our radar in 2016 with his debut EP Colorblind, this 22 year old is already making big waves. As a two-time finalist in this year’s prestigious Pacific Music Awards, where he claimed the coveted title of “Most Promising Artist”, and as a nominee in the upcoming Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards for “Best Soul/RnB Artist”, it’s clear that we’ve seen nothing yet.
