Wondergarden festival announced for New Years Eve in Auckland City

An exciting new offering for New Year’s Eve has been announced for downtown Auckland to ring in 2017. Situated at Silo Park, the inaugural Wondergarden festival will feature an eclectic all-local, musical lineup to be announced on Thursday September 8th.

Wondergarden arrives with the promise to provide Aucklanders something a little bit special and a little bit different from that currently on offer in the city for New Year’s Eve.

The festival is set to be an intimate, all-ages event with strictly limited ticket sales for what organisers are touting as a musical celebration for Auckland to farewell 2016.

Featuring pop, rock, indie, alternative, folk, soul and dance music, Wondergarden will have the best view in the city for the midnightfireworks bursting forth from the Skytower.

‘Wondergarden is a place for people who want to stay in Auckland for New Year’s Eve and still have something special to do,’ says event manager Reuben Bonner,  ‘We’re extremely proud of this lineup, and excited to offer something for friends, families, and party people of all ages who are sticking around the city.’

A full afternoon and evening of New Zealand’s best loved artists and bands will play the main stage starting from 2pm and finishing after midnight. Wondergarden will also feature roaming performers, a dedicated family zone with children’s entertainment, site theming and lighting installations from Angus Muir Design, licensed bars and New Zealand’s most sumptuous street food. All spread across a day and an eve at one of the city’s favourite waterfront locations.
