So Below hits Auckland's REC next Friday
Madeline North aka So Below brings her unique brand of moody synth pop to Auckland’s REC on Friday 23rd December.
Accompanying North in the line-up will be Aaron Short and Jesse Wood from The Naked And Famous, who arrive back on home turf for their upcoming iHeartRadio show at The Logan Campbell Centre on January 10th 2017.
It’s been an action packed 2016 for Auckland’s North, who released So Below’s self-titled EP in March 2016. Produced by fellow Kiwi musicians Aaron Short (The Naked And Famous), Sam McCarthy (Kids Of 88, BOYBOY) and Leroy Clampitt (Taste Nasa) this debut release immediately entered at #5 on the NZ iTunes Alternative chart, with the track ‘Sleep’ earning Top 25 placement in Spotify Canada’s Viral Chart and ‘Far’ peaking at #22 on the Hype Machine chart. This global admiration paved the way towards international collaboration and a Remixed version of the EP followed in September 2016.
North now releases her latest single Hard, earning the contagiously catchy single rave reviews from local and international music press alike. With an add to Spotify’s prestigious New Music Friday playlist in the USA, and clocking in at 135k of streams so far, North’s track has also caught the attention of US 80’s electro pop master Memoryy, who has lent his practiced remix touch to Hard’s hook laden ear worm to create his own infectious, synth-filled groove. Directed by Los Angeles based director Susie Francis, the video for Hard is currently in post-production and is due to drop January 2017.
