Mae Valley to support Keith Urban & Carrie Underwood's NZ show
New Zealand country/pop duo Mae Valley have been announced to support country legends Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood for their only New Zealand show on Saturday 3rd December at Westpac Stadium, Wellington.
Speaking on the opportunity to support two of country music’s biggest stars; "We both grew up idolising Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. We always dreamed, but never thought we would actually be lucky enough to open a show for them. They have both been a huge part of our lives and music career and we cannot express enough how excited we are for this show. If we weren’t opening for them, we would be right up the front in the audience singing every line to every song."
The nation was first introduced to Hannah Cosgrove and Abby Christodoulou on series 2 of The X Factor New Zealand. Both raised in the New Zealand country scene as solo musicians, they spent their early years performing - picking up accolades, awards and fans along the way. Since leaving the show as a duo, the pair have never looked back.
Mae Valley have gone from strength to strength releasing 2 singles, along with their debut self-titled EP in March 2016.
Their success has not stopped since. The EP debuted at #5 in the NZ Top 40 Albums Chart, and first single ‘Brightside’ topped the Australian Country Music Airplay Chart this year. They soon caught the attention of another US country pop star, Kelsea Ballerini, when they opened the stage for her Auckland iHeart Radio show in March this year. Most recently the girls rounded up a successful tour of New Zealand’s North Island.
