Getting high on hope, Fat Freddy’s Drop are releasing a brand new single 'Trickle Down' on July 20. Freddy’s annual summer roady around New Zealand in Jan 2019 gets a super-charged tune up with the addition of some incredible tour bus buddies; DJ legend Norman Jay MBE direct from London plus local super stars Ladi6, Salmonella Dub featuring Tiki Taane, The Black Seeds, Troy Kingi and Bailey Wiley with more to be announced. With fresh tour destinations added to the menu, Freddys are are about to serve up one massive summer tour.

Brand new track 'Trickle Down' is an electronic-driven reaction to the politics of the day – the false economic principle of wealth trickling down from the 1% to the 99%. As they sing of running out of patience while waiting for the rain to fall, a confident, steady beat propels us forward as a sign of promise.

Recorded at the band’s BAYS studio in their Wellington hometown, the track arose from a series of jams and is a slice of the new album they’re cooking up as a follow-up to their earlier releases; BAYS, Blackbird, Dr Boondigga & The Big BW and record breaking Based on a True Story.

'Trickle Down' will be released digitally on July 20 with a 12” release to follow later in 2018.

Freddy's NZ summer roady through January 2019 will be an ideal opportunity to witness Trickle Down live. Newcomers to the Freddy's tour bus include rising R&B star Bailey Wiley, dirt-blues extraordinaire Troy Kingi and reggae-soul funksters, The Black Seeds, and "for the love of it" icons, Salmonella Dub featuring Tiki Taane with more to be announced! Freddy's summer tour frequent flyers returning for 2019 include the incredible Norman Jay MBE, NZ's hip-hop and soul queen Ladi6 and Logg Cabin.

The eight stop party time shows are dropping in fresh locations in Whangarei, Tauranga, Thames, Auckland and Wellington as well as making a return to familiar spots in Nelson, Christchurch and Queenstown.

Considered one of the best live experiences in the world, Freddy’s annual trek to Europe and UK in 2018 starts in August following the drop of brand new single 'Trickle Down'. There  will be appearances at premier summer festivals including NO LOGOS in France, Boardmasters in Cornwall UK and Rototom Sunsplash in Spain, as well as Freddy’s own headline show at 10,000 strong Zitadelle in Spandau, Berlin.

Then in October and November, Freddys are dropping 18 of their biggest headline shows yet, capped by a double-hitter at Brixton Academy London (of which the first 5,000-cap show is already sold out). Joining Freddys on the northern hemisphere tour bus are Ladi6 & Parks: a new generation of Kiwi talent who are hyped about sharing their neo soul music with audiences across Europe and UK.
