Carb On Carb announce new single, album & NZ tour

Carb on Carb, New Zealand's resident emotive-indie duo, are excited to announce the release of their new single Nicole's Express with an accompanying coffee-themed music video. Carb on Carb are Auckland based Nicole Gaffney (vocals, guitar) and James Stuteley (drums). The track is the second single to be taken from the upcoming sophomore album For Ages, to be released on May 4.

Working with mix engineer Chris Teti (The World is a Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die), for ages is a cohesive, heart-on-sleeve record, that Bandcamp has described as having "all the sincere melodies and big, cathartic moments any fan would look for."

Nicole's Express explores these themes of growth and resilience. The video follows the band and friends (Wellington's Prizegiving), on their 2017 Australian tour, documenting the first sip taken of every coffee. The spacious and reflective opening riff sets the scene for the vulnerable first line “not leaving my routine, I might break”. The track builds gradually towards a resilient and cathartic finale with the inner-monologue-turned-sing-along “don’t forget to breathe.”

Nicole's Express follows the previous single It's Been A Rough Year, which Beat Magazine described as “another gem from the Aotearoa two-piece…Utilising golden age alternative rock devices for a purely uplifting, wholesome affirmation.”  Weirdo Wasteland added "...this is the kind of song that's important to have these days. Listen to it and tell me it doesn't make you feel a little bit better about life as it is for you currently."

Carb on Carb have consistently toured since the release of their 2015 self-titled album (released via Black Wire Records), seeing the pair perform across China, South East Aisa, and two tours of the United States - including showcases at the prestigious CMJ and Gainesville's The Fest (twice). They have made multiple runs across Australia, headlining DIY festivals No Front Fences and Sad By Sad West.
